Fascinating for her intelligence, talent and humour, Sophie Gail (Paris, 1775-1819) made a name for herself by publishing the scores of her romances, which she performed or accompanied herself.
The Double Face ensemble takes up the torch, offering a charming musical moment in this concert, with the refined and emblematic colours of this feminine music. Accompanying a mezzo-soprano voice, a harp, cornet and cello intertwine to celebrate the free and creative spirits and strong personalities of the female musicians of centuries past.
