The centre
Walk into the modern interior of this splendid Renaissance building bordering the vineyards and enjoy a fascinating learning experience.
Les Ateliers de la Seigneurie is a cultural interpretation centre, designed by the Barr Communauté de Communes (Municipalities Association) as an interactive exhibition bringing local heritage and culture to life.
The centre is a fun and educational way for visitors to understand, feel and experience our cultural legacy in all its forms.
Drive in!
Spread over 700 m², the centre offers visitors lively interactive activities for enjoying the cultural heritage of Barr, its surroundings and of the region as a whole, through its architecture (half-timbered houses, castles, religious architecture), vineyards and craftwork, which have played such an important role in shaping our part of France.
Come alone or with family or friends and have a go at putting together a half-timbered house, learning about building materials and constructing a pointed arch. It’s a wonderful introduction to our cultural legacy.
Pop into the centre one weekend or just before visiting a wine producer or hiking to one of the surrounding castles, maybe at the start of your stay in Alsace, to gain a closer understanding of the generous and authentic land you see around us.
