Description

The village still has 75 half-timbered houses, three of them from the 17th century. The oldest house, finely decorated, dates from 1674 and is the work of a carpenter from Allgau. After the great fire of 1717, several farms were rebuilt, the most imposing of which was the restaurant "Au Soleil", a former relay of the Post Office with horses of the Strasbourg - Fort-Louis line. The Town Hall of 1823 is entirely built of wood and surmounted by a bell tower. bThe houses of the town have the particularity of having (or had) a balcony or a gallery.
