Nestling against a hillside, the village overlooks the Bruche Plain. Urendorf castle, built in the Renaissance style in 1554, is remarkably picturesque. This private property cannot be visited. Bicycle enthusiasts will be happy to take a ride along the cycle track constructed on the former towpath of the Bruche Canal. This canal, which links Wolxheim to Strasbourg, excavated on Vauban’s orders, was originally
used to transport the materials needed to construct the Citadel.
