Situated close to the motorway intersection in the Vosges foothills and the Bruche Valley, Dorlisheim is a typical wine-making village. It is here too that you will find the Bugatti family crypt where the earthly remains of the famous automobile manufacturer lie at rest.
The gateway to the town is signalled by an imposing sandstone column (18th century), topped with a sundial. The Protestant parish church is a lovely building in the Romanesque style with a choir dating from the Gothic period. A magnificent well (1605) recalls the town’s winemaking tradition, which is further underlined by the Husaren trail, along which you can discover the grape varieties and the work of the vineyard.
