Reipertswiller's reputation as a spa town dates back to Roman times.
It was in 1876 that Pastor Spach discovered the virtues and benefits of these waters. In 1880, the spring water was marketed in bottles and barrels for export to England and the United States. Unfortunately, the First World War put an end to these exports.
But the village is also famous for its Saint Jacques church, whose square tower illustrates Romanesque art and where one of the Lords of Lichtenberg, Jacques le Barbu, is buried.
Not far away, milestones mark the paths and delineated Roman or medieval borders.
