On 25 June 2025, three time capsules are discovered by a pair of researchers. There are no signs of corrosion or wear and tear: the capsules are too intact to be old. What is their history? There is only one clue: the inscription “4026” engraved on their surface.

The researchers open the capsules and remove 12 objects that are both familiar and strange. They preserve, document and analyse them. Their research leads them to an unexpected hypothesis: these objects do not come from the past, but from the future. What's more, they are toys!

Through a deliberately fictional narrative, visitors will discover 12 major families of toys presented in the form of triptychs: one toy from the past, one from the present and one from the future.
This comparison does not seek to predict the future of toys, but to question what their evolution reveals about our societies: our relationship with materials, industry, intimacy and emotion.
By examining certain toys and objects from childhood, such as comfort blankets, playing cards, construction toys and spinning tops, the exhibition presents a chosen perspective on the potential evolution of these toys that have stood the test of time.
Known to all, the parallel between the past, present and future forms of these objects also questions their function and use, inviting us to think differently about toys and games.
