St. Lucy's Church

The church was consecrated in 1870.



Since 1999, it has been listed as a historic monument for its interior decoration.

The interior decoration was created by E. Schilling in 1896. A comprehensive restoration was carried out in 1984–86 by the Bruckert company of Saverne.



The Neo-Romanesque decor, one of the last remaining examples in the region, has thus been preserved. It is a dense and opulent design featuring alternating palettes of bright and pastel colors, dominated by blue and green and accented by gold trim.



The rectangular tower, topped by a hexagonal spire, stands 42 meters high and overlooks a nave measuring 29.80 meters long by 15.40 meters wide and 12 meters high.

Currently, the bell tower’s six bells produce the most powerful peal in the Hardt region (apart from Neuf-Brisach).



The organ, Martin Ringenbach’s 24th work, installed in 1890, is still in use today.



It is worth noting that this is the only church in Alsace dedicated to Saint Lucy and the first chapel or church in the 13th century to bear this name.
