Sermensheim was a village in the Alsace Plain, located between Réguisheim and Munchhouse.
Its inhabitants are said to have fallen victim to the Black Death in 1304, or around 1348, depending on the source.
The jurisdiction of Sermensheim subsequently reverted to Réguisheim.
A memorial chapel had been built on the site in 1871; it was moved in 2004 during the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Departmental Roads D2 and D47.
