Théâtre - Ceux qui restent

Étienne, in his thirties, finds himself at a crossroads. On the one hand, he accompanies his mother, Annie, to Switzerland for assisted suicide; on the other, he meets Juliette and falls madly in love. But Juliette is about to leave to live on the other side of the world, in New Caledonia.

While he wavers between the first “I love yous” on one side and the last ones on the other, Annie, full of wit and energy, relishes every moment of her final days.

Through a understated yet ingenious staging that weaves together two parallel spaces and times, the play tackles the subject of the end of life with incredible precision, ultimately celebrating existence. A deeply tender production that speaks of love—in all its forms—and of what binds us deeply as human beings.
