Macnaghten, the unexpected new chief of Scotland Yard—promoted for succeeding where everyone else had failed—boasts and recounts the success of his investigation under the watchful eye of Andrew Long, a journalist as curious as he is mischievous. Will the truth turn out to be true?

Part Victorian pastiche, part macabre vaudeville, this closed-door play reinvents history through a series of misunderstandings, deliberate anachronisms, wordplay, and shifts in tone. A highly original comedy that provides (almost) no answers… but guarantees a moment of pure laughter!
