Hydroelectric power plant

The hydroelectric power plant, equipped with 4 bulb units (horizontal), produces an average of 650 million renewable kWh per year without greenhouse gas emissions.

The small hydroelectric power plant associated with the fish pass commissioned in 2006 produces an additional 3 million kWh per year.

Since the commissioning of the fish passes d´Iffezheim in 2000 and Gambsheim in 2006, highly migratory fish (salmon, sea trout...) can cross hydroelectric facilities to return to their place of birth, and / or d´introduction, and reproduction in tributaries from the Vosges and the Northern Black Forest.
