Description

The present church building was built in 1767. Inside the church there is an organ by Michel Stiehr. It was restored in 1988 and classified as a historical monument. In addition to the regular masses, small events such as choirs and concerts are occasionally held here. There is a chapel in the cemetery right next to St. Bartholomew's Church. The chapel dates from the mid-16th century. This one-room, slightly buried building is made of pink sandstone with semi-circular openings. It has an ogival vault whose key is sculpted with the arms of the Sires of Fleckenstein-Dagstuhl. This chapel may have been their burial chapel.
Today, plaques engraved with the names of the victims of the two world wars are affixed to the wall on either side of the stone altar.
On this altar, with its carved paintings, sits a Virgin of Pity. The Christ in this sculpture, originally from the 18th century, appears to be more recent and was brought from another pedestal. The stained glass windows are signed with a monogram.
