Sessenheim

Sessenheim owes its world fame and its entry into the history of literature to the idyllic relationship between Johann Wolfgang Goethe, then a law student in Strasbourg and a daughter of the Sessenheim pastor, Frédérique Brion, from 1770 to 1771. It is also the adopted village of Henri Loux, a long ignored painter whose work is known throughout the world through the typical tableware decor called "Obernai". Maint restaurant or "Winstub" serves its customers in these plates in the background of which we discover a village, a house, an Alsatian in traditional costume.
