Administratively attached to the canton of Bischwiller and the district of Haguenau, Leutenheim is located on the western edge of the Rhine strip that forms the Uffried north of Strasbourg. Leutenheim is built on the right bank of the Eberbach at an altitude of 119 metres. Once a village of small farmers, the commune no longer has a farm today. Its ban extends over 1039 hectares. To the northwest, 3 kilometres from the village is the hamlet of Koenigsbruck, an annex of the municipality of Leutenheim. Nestled in a small valley dug in the edge of the terrace by the Sauer River, the hamlet of Koenigsbruck is known for the Cistercian abbey that was founded there and finally destroyed during the Revolution. Its beautiful forest, called the Klosterwald, although located on the outskirts of the municipality of Leutenheim, is state-owned.
