In the forest allotment, there is a structure of the Maginot line, which dates from 1932-1934: the Kilstett casemate.
This casemate is a third line structure, known as the villages' structure, whose mission was to prohibit the passage on the dirt roads linking Kilstett to the Rhine forest, and thus prevent enemy infiltration from entering the forest located 500 metres south-east of Kilstett.
To discover the interior fittings, a short guided tour, on reservation, is required.
Open occasionally.
