Description
The name Herrlisheim is mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation signed in 743 in favour of the Wissembourg convent. The village was known at that time as Hariolfesvilla (Hariold's farm). The municipality has grown considerably thanks to the establishment of the Strasbourg refinery for 20 years.
