Description

The trail begins in front of the school complex, next door to the multipurpose hall, and runs alongside the "Quellwasser" (water course) between the "La Source" housing estate and the bicycle path leading to the primary school. Along this 2.5-km trail, you will find all kinds of interesting information on the trees typically found along the banks of the Rhine (poplars, willows, etc.). Numerous information panels, which punctuate the trail, allow you to satisfy your curiosity about the various species of tree and recognise their diversity and their utility to the ecosystem. Nest boxes have been put in place on some of the trees. The trail will introduce you to the ecological richness of the shrubs (crab apple, common elderberry, wild pear, field maple, ash, linden, etc.). The path itself is surfaced with natural materials (bark, wood chips). An insect wall has also been set up to help with the safeguard and overwintering of insects.
