Construction of the church began in 1897. The war brought the project to a halt, and work resumed in 1938. In 1941, the church was consecrated and the Saint John Bosco pilgrimage site was opened. The church is oriented and built according to a Latin cross plan. On the side of the façade stands a bell tower with windows running its entire height.
