Fountain in Westhalten

This fountain delimited the frontier between Rouffach and Soultzmatt.

It’s formed by an octagonal flume in sandstone. The oldest part is dated from the 17th century. A board on the column shows the mention “Don’t wash, don’t soil and don’t let the livestock drink in this fountain, outlaws will be prosecuted and pay half a franc”. A statue of the Virgin Mary dominates the fountain.
