Star breaks to visit the Three Castles in the Alsatian Jura

This 2-day/1 night weekend break offers you the opportunity to relax in the peaceful setting of a little-known and unspoilt region. Involving both hiking and discovery, paths and charming trails lead you without much difficulty from one end to the other of this small piece of land removed from the usual frenzy and agitation of everyday life. The Alsatian Jura opens its doors to you. It's just up to you to enter. The proposed hikes are the best in the sector. Example of a star break of 2 days/1 night:

Day #1: greeting in Ferrette, a picturesque medieval town, during the day. Walk around the city (2 hours 30 mins), an opportunity to visit the ruined castle and town of the powerful Counts of Ferrette. Numerous narrow romantic paths lead to amazing limestone headlands and the mysterious Cave of the Dwarfs, which is the site of a famous legend.Overnight at the Hotel-Restaurant Collin **

Day #2: Breakfast. Drive to Oberlarg (10 min). Walk (from 3 hours 30 mins to 4 hours) through landscapes among the most beautiful in the Sundgau area. The rock shelter of Mannlefelsen is a major site of the Mesolithic period in Alsace and precedes Ebourbettes Farm, the site of General Giraud's escape in 1942. Later, the ruins of Morimont Castle offer an interesting history lesson on the adaptation of a medieval castle to firearms. Overnight in Ferrette.

Day #3: Breakfast. Drive to Leymen (15min). Landskron, a castle feared until 1814, which a Franco-Swiss association maintains with love, and Mariastein, where multitudes of pilgrims come to pray every year, are the highlights of this wonderful 3 hour 30 minute walk that offers beautiful panoramas on both sides of the frontier.

The proposed walks involve walking times ranging from 2 hours 30 mins to 4 hours 30 mins. It is possible to shorten the walks using the guide provided on arrival. The trails are easy, well maintained and well marked.
