Description Opening times

Aristide Leblanc, captain of the 68th Battalion of Alpine Chasseurs, fought on the Vosges front and was wounded seven times during the war. His descendants, wishing to share the memory of their grandfather and all the servicemen of the Great War, have donated these objects to the CMNHWK.

During this workshop, your students will explore the daily lives of French and German soldiers in 1914-1918. Their objects help us to understand what they experienced during the war, particularly at Hartmannswillerkopf. Another way to discover their stories!

With the help of an activity booklet, youngsters can carry out various exercises linked to Captain Leblanc's objects. This enables them to understand the living and fighting conditions of French and German soldiers on this Great War mecca.

To note:

  • Supervision by specialized site guides,

  • Possibility of lunching outside, and sheltering under the Historial in bad weather,

  • School booklets to work on before/during/after the visit.
