Description Opening times

On the site of the present-day hospital stood a Franciscan convent (the Franciscans arrived in 1297 thanks to the generosity of Count Thibaut de Ferrette).

Built in 1302–1303, it remained in use until the Revolution, when it was sold to industrialists and, in the early 19th century, became a factory producing ‘Indiennes’ (these are fabrics painted or printed in France, typically in shades of red due to the plant used for dyeing: madder).
