Bitschwiller-les-Thann

The highest point of the Thanner Hubel (1184 metres) and its farmhouse are the centre of a network of hiking circuits and ski pists. The church dates from 1838, and it is famous for its Callinet organ. In 1836, Bitschwiller used to manufacture locomotives and that is where the steam whistle – the “Dampffifla” was invented. It gives its name to local folklore band.
