Docks

The Docks are the former warehouses of the shipbuilder Seegmuller, which closed its doors in 2000. The site became derelict and the City of Strasbourg decided to create a new zone, launching extensive restoration work. The Docks were inaugurated in September 2014. The old buildings were converted into the André Malraux media library, the Shadok, a centre dedicated to digital culture, and student accommodation. Two old shipbuilding cranes at Seegmuller were dismantled and restored in 2008. They have been re-erected in their original location and bear witness to the site’s former activity as a port.
