On display at Sainte Marie Church, dating from 1935, it was entirely mechanical, with all the figurines able to move.
Restored in 1993 by Mr Jost, the modern installation features around thirty figures sculpted in the 1930s; the Nativity scene is ‘in motion’, brought to life by automatons and an original and surprising set design.
Assisted in his work by a few volunteers and friends, he enables you to follow its evolution year after year.
You can also enjoy the exhibition ‘Le Chemin des Crèches du Monde’ (The Path of Nativity Scenes from Around the World), which invites you to travel the globe whilst admiring over 170 nativity scenes from different countries and cultures, on loan from parishioners. A fun journey to discover on your own, with your family, with children or in a group.
