The French school of oboe, one of the most prestigious, has inspired three 20th-century composers who have brought out the very best in this instrument. These essential works are complemented by two virtuoso pieces. Rounding off the programme, Poulenc’s “Mélancolie” showcases Jorge Gonzales-Buajasan’s subtle artistry. Gabriel Pidoux, winner of the ‘Instrumental Soloist Revelation’ award at the 2022 Victoires de la Musique Classique, and Jorge Gonzalez Buajasan, a sought-after soloist and chamber musician, have formed a critically acclaimed duo since 2019, with two albums released in 2022 and 2026.
