To celebrate the return of spring, AJAM will be joined once again by the accomplished violinist and chamber musician Hugo Meder, alongside his virtuoso colleagues from the Trio Pantoum. The ensemble will pay tribute to Beethoven, the bicentenary of whose death will be commemorated in 2027. A light-hearted and romantic Beethoven will be complemented by Mendelssohn and his unmissable Opus 49.
The ensemble was formed in Paris in 2016. Having received numerous accolades and performed across five continents, it released its debut album in 2024, which was immediately acclaimed by critics.
Centred on the master from Bonn, the programme will open with an iconic work by the young Beethoven, known for his immediate passion for the piano trio. This light-hearted, almost Mozartian opus will be followed by Opus 70/2, the lyrical and radiant counterpart to the ‘Geister-Trio’ – a work that is virtually unknown, yet so deeply moving! As for Mendelssohn, the direct heir to Beethoven’s Romanticism, he will naturally find his place in this programme. Much to our delight.
