Frank Zappa, the brilliant American composer, has left his mark. Shortly after his death, some of his fellow musicians formed the band BANNED FROM UTOPIA to perform a repertoire characterised by inventiveness. All the members had played with the artist. Drawing inspiration from jazz as well as experimental and electronic music, the avant-garde Zappa is also remembered as an exceptional guitarist, whose virtuosity leaves one speechless. How could one forget his dizzying, wild solos, which seemed as though they would never end! The concerts in which he performed plunged the audience into a state of near-trance. It is in the footsteps of this unique spirit—where music is conceived as an experience to be shared—that the musicians of Banned from Utopia set out. On the programme for their session are the great classics that have become cult favourites, and a desire to convey through their notes an energy identical to the original. In short, a true return to the roots!
