Italian Evening

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Dante Alighieri Mulhouse Association invites you to delve into the heart of Italian painting, in collaboration with the Mulhouse Museum of Fine Arts.

At 4:30 p.m., join Cecilia Lodato, exhibition curator, for a guided tour titled “Italy at the Heart of the Collections.” You’ll discover the Italian works housed at the museum and the stories behind them.

At 6:00 p.m., Michel Litwinowicz, who holds a Ph.D. in art history and specializes in Italian art, will expand on this exploration with a lecture focused on paintings from the Venetian, Lombard, Bolognese, Sienese, and Neapolitan schools featured in the collections.

Attribution, dating, and provenance of the works: discover the research conducted on these paintings and learn about artists such as Sebastiano Ricci, Giacomo Fardella, Francesco Francia, Girolamo del Pacchia, Giovanni Ghisolfi, and Alessandro La Volpe. The lecture will also address several anonymous works whose artists remain, even today, unidentified.
