This New Year’s Eve, the Mulhouse National Orchestra is shaking up the norms with an evening that’s as elegant as it is unexpected, led by a rising star of the accordion: Théo Ould.

A virtuoso accordionist with the look of a pop star and a breakout star at the Victoires de la Musique Classique, Théo Ould reinvents his instrument with rare freedom and expressiveness. On stage, his technique—a left hand of
mind-boggling flexibility and phrasing of inexhaustible richness—and his sense of whimsy open up new territory at the intersection of genres.

Following a sold-out tour of North America in late 2025, he has accepted the Orchestra’s invitation to kick off its 2027 season: an evening that is already shaping up to be a highlight of the season.
