Le Schweissdissi de Yves Carrey

The "Schweissdissi", one of the city's main emblems, was without doubt an easy choice for the artist with its potent symbols of the City of Bollwerk's rich industrial past. The subject's seated position is linked to unemployment (disappearance of Mulhouse's great factories). It is essentially a matter of mechanical parts from cars originating from a recycling company and old tools dug out of Yves Carrey's own collection of bric-à-brac.
