Fascinated by the unique light that permeates Gabriel Fauré’s *Requiem*, Catherine Fender offers a profoundly original reinterpretation of the work with *Requiem sous la lune*. For this production, the choir director entrusted the instrumental arrangement of the work to Ludovic Thirvaudey, giving rise to a musical and theatrical experience of great intensity.
The voices of the Ksàng 16 ensemble interact with the piano, accordion, horn, cello, and viola in a subtle balance. The staging and lighting design extend the music to create a nocturnal, almost dreamlike atmosphere, where every movement contributes to the drama.
Throughout this journey, the works of Gabriel Fauré are interwoven with those of Francis Poulenc and Claude Debussy. The singers gradually become characters in a night filled with dreams, fears, and emotions, eventually forming a true ensemble.
More than just a concert, *Requiem sous la lune* invites audiences to rediscover this iconic work through a sensitive fusion of music, poetry, light, and movement. An immersive experience that reveals Fauré’s *Requiem* in an unexpected light.
