Day 1 of 5: Climb to the Grand Ballon

Starting from Guebwiller, the first day of this itinerary takes you to the Grand Ballon, the highest summit of the Vosges mountains that culminates at 1,424 metres above sea level. The climb to this pass is as a result quite challenging and you must be in good physical condition. Along the way, you can enjoy different types of landscapes, the fauna and the flora of the Vosges, and on your arrival, the exceptional panoramic view of the entire Alsace plain, the Black Forest and even the Alps.
