Autour du Chalmont

This sporty hike takes you to discover the Chalmont massif, between Vosges forests, remarkable panoramas and local legends. The highest point on the route, the Chalmont rock offers spectacular views over the Val d'Argent and surrounding mountains.
According to tradition, Charlemagne buried the Treasure of the Franks under this rock during his passage through the region. Another legend has it that a huge bridge once linked the Chalmont to the Taennchel before collapsing under the effect of a forgotten enchantment.
This undeveloped natural site does, however, require great vigilance in the vicinity of rocks and viewpoints.
