Description

Starting from the Salle des Fêtes, reach the Saint-Blaise oratory, then follow the small road that climbs up and passes under the expressway. Then turn left towards Le Hury along a path offering fine views.
Continue to Le Hury, a former coal-mining area in the XVIII¿ century. On the way, spot the Club Vosgien's Maurice Burrus refuge. After a large crossroads, take the path down to the Timbach valley, between forest, stream and old farms.
At la Timbach, cross the stream and follow the path to the Hajus chapel. This balcony route offers fine views of the Chalmont, Frankenbourg and Taennchel.
The hike then passes the Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines National Necropolis, a World War I military cemetery, before descending back to the village. On the way back, it's possible to explore the Villa Burrus and its park.
