Entering the night is always a special passage that accompanies every day of our lives. The night, with its enveloping darkness and deafening silence, can be both a moment of anxiety, because dangerous, but also of rest where everything calms down. Night is the abode of the dead, but it is also starry, its mantle protecting us.


The ancients were keenly aware of the special feeling we experience as night approaches and as night falls, and personified the Night, and above all the Aurora (the coming and going of night) with various deities. So let's set off together on a symbolic journey through the night, with the Indian forest goddess Ara¿yani'.


This show is built like an initiatory tale, where we travel with the souls of the dead and the creatures of the night. Texts and songs from different cultures and traditions and in different languages, ancient, traditional and lyrical songs (ancient tradition, Jewish tradition, Western classical culture, opera), texts in Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, French and Hebrew, will illuminate our path into the depths of the world as prayers to Nature and to the Divine that lies deep within each of us.


The theorbo, the great Baroque lute, accompanies this journey like a voice from the shadows. Its deep, resonant timbre dialogues with the night, supporting the voice and opening up a space for inner listening. An instrument of chiaroscuro, it becomes the sonic thread linking silence, text and song.


The deep sonorities of this ancient instrument embrace the movements of the soul and the story, rooting it in the different cultures and musical styles on the program.


The accompaniment to each piece has been worked on and adapted specifically to the styles and atmospheres of the show. Solo pieces add breathing space between different eras and cultures.
