Thanvillé castle

In the 11th century, a fortress was built here to guard the entrance to the Villé valley and collect tolls on the ancient Salt Route. Today, it takes the form of a majestic plain castle, once surrounded by water, dating in its present form from the 17th century. Preceded by a large square courtyard, access to the castle is protected by a tower-porch with its characteristic allure. Accompanied by a guide from the AOC (association à l'ombre du château), discover more than 10 centuries of history within the walls of Château de Thanvillé, one of the most beautiful residences in Alsace at the beginning of the 20th century, during a guided tour. Reservations for these historical guided tours of the château can be made directly with the Office de la Vallée de Villé. During the summer, fun tours for children are organized. Visits for groups are also possible.
