Triembach-au-Val remained a subsidiary of Villé for a long time. A first chapel was built in the 16th century, already dedicated to Saint Christopher. The keystone, dated 1619 and emblazoned with a branch of foliage, a stylized wave and a Greek cross, certainly comes from this chapel, which was rebuilt or enlarged before the outbreak of the Thirty Years War. The present church dates back to 1777, although Triembach only became a parish in 1803. The church is dedicated to Saint Christopher. He is the patron saint of travellers and the helper who protects against sudden death.
