The chapel of Maisonsgoutte was enlarged and renovated in 1737. In 1830, as in many places in the Val de Villé, a debate began concerning a new extension or a new construction. The building had become too small because of the demographic growth. The church being in bad condition, repairs were made from 1867 to 1896. It was not until the spring of 1912 that the demolition began. The first stone was laid on July 7, 1912 and the new church was consecrated on October 12, 1913. Like the previous one, it is placed under the protection of Saint Antoine the hermit, celebrated on January 17.
