Chapelle Notre Dame

On the site of Notre-Dame de Lalaye, the statute of the Virgin, in sandstone painted in white is erected on a rocky peak dominating the valley of Lalaye-Charbes. It was raised in 1865 and represents the Virgin of the Miraculous Medal of Catherine Labouré. In 1933, the parish priest erected the chapel with its small bell tower and a grotto of Lourdes. The children of Lalaye were told that babies were found in the protective rock.
