Conference: Latest news from the Ried – understanding to take action

In recent years, numerous scientific ‘discoveries’ have led to a better understanding of how the Ried’s wetlands function. Whilst it is accepted that human activities have an impact on these fragile ecosystems, this still needed to be demonstrated. This is precisely what the researchers and speakers leading this conference have done: Serge Dumont, Élodie Giuglaris, Jérôme Houssier, Laurent Schmitt and Philippe Schott. What pollutants are found in the groundwater? How do the various groundwater abstractions lower the levels of the groundwater streams?
