Rhine Marne Canal

The Rhine Marne Canal was built in 1853. 314 km long with 154 locks, the canal is reknown to be a real technical achievement, built to facilitate commercial transport by boat. The Saverne lock right in the center of town is unique, and it's 16 meters deep. Walk along the Saverne marina and enjoy a fantastic view on the Rohan Castle. The Nicol's Company rents canal boats, no navigation licence is required.
