Cloister and church of the Recollets

This Gothic cloister, a 14th-century architectural jewel, is one of the prettiest in Alsace.

After first housing a convent, it was converted to a Latin school. In the 17th century, it housed shops and troops passing through before reverting to a school for girls and then an annex to Poincaré School.

Beneath the arches, you will see murals representing Biblical and religious scenes inspired by the spirit of the Counter-Reformation.
