Discover the foothills of the Northern Vosges, starting from the village of Zinswiller. Known for its history of ironworking, a foundry was established here as early as the second half of the 16th century. The subsoil in this area is rich in iron ore.
Start in the village centre and follow the path marked with a green cross. The path climbs gradually towards the spot known as ‘die Alte Reben’ on the edge of the forest. Stop off at the small shelter with a picnic table to enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside and the Alsace plain. Continue your walk through the forest between the Hochfirst and Reiberg massifs. Then return via the Muhlthal valley and reach the village from the north, back to the starting point.
