Hiking tour from Rothbach to the outskirts of Lichtenberg and its castle

A circular walk, mostly through woodland, between the Alsace plain and the Northern Vosges. Start from the village of Rothbach, situated in the foothills of the Northern Vosges. Climb through the woodland bordering the village and continue towards the hilltop village of Lichtenberg. Almost halfway along the route, you’ll reach Lichtenberg Castle, which offers a remarkable view of the surrounding countryside. Then return via the valley and the Rothbach stream to reach the starting point.
