Hiking tour around the Operation Nordwind

Follow this route between the villages of Hatten, Oberroedern and Rittershoffen to discover the remnants of Operation Nordwind. This operation, one of the Wehrmacht’s final military offensives on the Western Front during the Second World War, took place from 31 December 1944 to 25 January 1945 in northern Alsace and Lorraine. The villages along the route were severely affected by extensive destruction, and their architecture differs from that of the surrounding villages.
