Surrounded by hills and forests, the village is marked by its oil industry and thermal springs. The mining industry in Pechelbronn is one of the world's leading oil companies. Thanks to its oil deposits, the village enjoyed great prosperity from the 1920s until the end of World War II. Although mining ceased in 1970, the village now has an oil museum where visitors can discover all the secrets of oil and its history in the region.
