This lavoir on the banks of the Sauer was probably built in the 19th century. It was still in use before the Second World War. There are still movable lavoirs of this type at Oberdorf and Gunstett. The main structure consists of six oak posts on cement foundations. At either end and in the middle there are wrought iron chains on three wooden cylinders that made it possible to raise the planking on which the women kneeled to do the washing. The level of the planking could be adjusted according to the level of the river. There is no planking on the central section allowing free access to the water. A long twin surface roof with the ends closed of with boarding. The roof is built with an overhang on the bank side supported on three pillars. It shelters the steps to the lavoir.
