Description

Nestled in a green valley, Steinseltz is a charming village surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards. The Hausauerbach stream flows peacefully through the village, sculpting a landscape where each hillside has its own role to play: to the south, the vineyards enjoy ideal exposure, while to the north, cereal crops, particularly wheat, form a rural patchwork.

Its geographical location gives Steinseltz a unique historical importance. At the northern tip of Alsace, at the crossroads of the Lauter border valley and the ancient Roman road linking Wissembourg to Saverne, the village has long occupied a strategic position. This territory was marked by major invasions from the north and by a famous historical site: the Geisberg, the first French foothills on which several pages of regional history were written.

Today, Steinseltz charms visitors as much with its vineyard landscapes as with its rich past, offering them a stopover where nature and history blend harmoniously.
